About us
Where it began
In 2018, Dora and her sister Clara rolled the espresso machine through the front door of a former stationer's on Elm Lane. The plan was simple: good coffee, honest food, and enough space between tables for a real conversation.
Six years later, the sign is still hand-painted — by the same local artist, every summer. What's changed is the depth of the relationships: with the farmers who grow our beans, the miller who supplies our flour, and the regulars who've watched two children grow up behind that counter.
We haven't chased growth. We've chased quality, and this neighbourhood keeps coming back because it can taste the difference.
What we stand for
Relationships over transactions
We pay above market rate for our beans because we visit the farms, know the farmers by name, and believe that good coffee starts with fairness at origin.
Made here, made properly
Every pastry is baked in our kitchen from scratch each morning. We don't par-bake, we don't freeze, and we won't serve yesterday's croissant.
A room for everyone
A café should feel like the best version of a public living room. We have no Wi-Fi time limits, no minimum spend, and a spare phone charger behind the counter.
Reduce what we can
Compostable packaging, a bring-your-own discount, and a partnership with a local food bank for unsold bakes at close of day.
